When you are asked to show up in a specific location without actually having a clue why you are going there, respectively what to expect, it always leaves you anxious about what is going to happen. But this was one of the pleasant surprises and the anxiety vanished it started crystallizing what the evening would bring. The invite to the Chef’s Table @ Marco Pfleiderer Catering was a very unique experience! We were all led into the kitchen of Marco who has been responsible for the raise of some of the great chefs in Zurich and seated at a nice wooden table.

And the experience started with a variety of little snacks to tickle your palate (unfortunately, I was not able to write down everything they had served as it was just too much).

But it was not only amazing to look at but was also very delicious!

Considering the effort which was necessary to get this done and the time the two chefs invested into the evening – it was truly breath-taking.

And it was not only great because it was refined but also because the ingredients were of extraordinary high quality.

One of my favourite courses of the evening was the ‘bread course’. I mean, when would you normally get bread served as an actual course? Frankly, I cannot remember that this had ever happened to me but the bread was absolutely delicious and the spread which was prepared with it was incredibly mouth-watering.

If you look at the way the dishes are prepared on the plates it creates pure joy in you – or at least it did in me. The attention to detail is unique and not only in terms of display but also in terms of combination of flavours!

The ‘splash’ with a variety of roots was light yet exquisite.

One of my favourite courses – for obvious reasons – was the main. The meat was incredibly tender, yet very clear in terms of taste, and ultimately only refined with a pinch of salt making it, all together, an amazingly luscious dish.

The mashed potato with beef cheeks (beneath) was so incredibly buttery, so incredibly smooth that it was a pure joy digging in!

The granité helped to clean the palate but was actually not intended to serve as such but was the first round of desserts.

The first desert looked a bit surprising to me but was rich …

… but couldn’t keep up with the second one which was amazing. Two types of sorbet, a golden white chocolate form and a sugary stick. Delicious!

And the evening ended as it started – with a selection of little things to eat, this time not appetizers but tiny deserts …

… and chocolates …

… and not only great in terms of taste but also super lovely to look at!

The last course of the evening was a selection of ‘macaroons’ which rounded up the evening just perfectly.

If you have the chance to enjoy the catering of Marco Pfleiderer, you definitely should! It was a very unique experience and definitely one I would love to repeat!
