Fair prices, lovely dishes and very trusting and friendly service: Restaurant Café Azizi (23. April 2018)
I was quite skeptical when entering the place as it does not look like a restaurant but more like a café which does not seem to offer proper lunch dishes – but they actually do. Together with a very reasonably priced menu (CHF 21.90), quite a substantial / large menu salad is served.
As a main, I went for the “Mahi (grilled trout filet, served with spicy leaf spinach, salted potatoes and garlic sauce)” (CHF 21.90 as a menu). The fish was a bit too dry but else not too bad. All of it would be a bit too blunt if it wasn’t for the garlic sauce though.
The guys who run the place manage to create a nice atmosphere and are very friendly, supportive and helpful. Although we were there for the first time, and as they only accept cash, they offered us to pay another time in case we did not have enough cash at hand. I guess that’s the big difference between ‘countryside’ and ‘city’. Loved it though. So, all in all, for an incredibly reasonable price you get quite a good lunch offering. And the price for the beverages (e.g. 0,5l mineral water) is, with CHF 3.70, also very reasonable. So, this is definitely a place worth visiting when you are in Liestal.
