Slurpy Asian noodle soups: Restaurant DON by Maruyasu (11. October 2018)
Given, today was a day without any expected client meetings, it was the perfect day for an Asian soup where you would – for sure – ruin your shirt. So, it was time to go to that same place again and get an Asian noodle soup. I went for the “Yakiniku (fried minced beef with udon noodles in a dashi stock)” (EUR 10.40) and for “gyozas” (EUR 0.90 / piece) as a starter.
The gyozas were overall good – nothing exquisite but tasty. The yakiniku was rich in terms of elements comprised in the soup but also rich in flavour and aroma. It was lacking a bit of spiciness for my personal gusto but that was easily solved with some additional chili (unfortunately I put a bit too much which made it a bit too spicy in the end). But again, for the fact that we are talking about ‘mall food’ here, I must admit the Asian noodle soup was quite delicious. The place remains as non-atmospheric as the last two days but at least you have a good selection of different dishes. And the mineral water (0,2l) is 0.10 EUR cheaper than next door with EUR 2.00.
