Friendly service but small portions: Restaurant Belcanto (19. October 2018)
I haven’t been to the Belcanto for more than a year – it is still a good place to come back to. I went for the “starter salad from the buffet” which is included in the menu and offers you a nice selection of different salads (and not just the green leaf salad like in so many other places).
The “horse filet with green pepper cream sauce and rose hip ravioli” (CHF 31.00) was surprisingly tasty. The rose hip ravioli were – admittedly – a peculiar taste I was not so used to but it was generally tasty. What I didn’t like so much about the dish – the portion is rather tiny. You would really still be hungry after eating this. Not that it isn’t enough but you just would leave with a bit of a feeling that you didn’t quite have enough.
The place itself is nice in terms of interior decoration but located right next to a busy road which makes the view not as great. But, if you get to score a table by the window, you have a view onto Lake Zurich which is quite enjoyable.
The waitress who was an apprentice was friendly and dedicated and really made us feel comfortable and welcome – when the chef declined the request for ‘supplement’, she apologized various times to us. Didn’t solve our problem but she seemed to really care.
