Located quite remotely but worth the drive: Gasthaus Michaelskreuz (18. November 2018)
I think you don’t just ‘randomly’ end up in the Gasthaus Michaelskreuz as it is rather remote. However, it is definitely worth the short drive up the mountains as the place is cozy and lovely. As a starter, I went for the “hay cream soup, refined with white wine” (CHF 10.80) which was mouth-watering. I had ordered the version with pieces of venison which weren’t served making it a slight bit of a disappointment.
The main though was great. I went for “back of venison ‘Michaelskreuz’ (served with game cream sauce, home-made spaetzle, red cabbage, chestnuts, autumn vegetables, pickled fruit)” (CHF 57.00 per person; starting from two people) which was offered with two servings.
The venison was absolutely delicious – it wasn’t only perfectly tender but it had also this nice grill flavors – just absolutely delicious! And not only that, also the sauce and the spaetzle were a great combination. Just really creating happiness in one’s mouth.
The place is nicely decorated on the inside and the service is friendly and attentive and really manages to create a positive atmosphere and a lovely experience. Even though, the Gasthaus Michaelskreuz is rather remote I can absolutely recommend you to pay a visit to this place. Admittedly, probably even much nicer in summer but also in winter it’s lovely.
