20. – 21. December 2010: Restaurant Glashaus @Hyatt Regency Hotel Cologne

| December 21, 2010 | 0 Comments

A huge selection of high quality food – breakfast at the Hyatt Regency in Cologne. The choices are vast. From different kinds of cereals, nuts, dried raisins, yoghurts, …

… fresh fruit …

… a vast selection of different kinds of breads …

… to a selection of meat, cheese, fish, smoked salmon …

… and of course the possibility to have Bavarian veal sausages, bacon, potatoes and all kinds of eggs – you can find anything you’re looking for for a healthy or hearty breakfast.

The restaurant is also nicely places as the tables are in an area where all the walls are windows and the dining room itself is basically the atrium of the hotel on the mezzanine level. The view you have – also on the Kölner Dom – is really nice and can probably only improve if you’re there in summer – also winter has its charm though. The tables themselves though and the carpet are nice, but not really appealing – leading to a slight deduction of points.

The service can’t really be judged on as asking for a coffee and bringing it right away isn’t much to be judged. Still, friendly and as I said, the coffee is brought to your table within max one minute.

The only drawback is the price – EUR 29.00 for a breakfast (even though the selection is great) is quite expensive – even for Swiss standards. Still, if you’re staying at the Hyatt Regency in Cologne, it’s worth having breakfast – the buffet is amazing!
