Lovely hike, Swiss dishes and sledding down the mountain: Restaurant Druesberghütte (19. January 2019)
If you like hiking and sledding, then I can definitely recommend you the Hoch-Ybrig area. After a two hour walk up the hills, you arrive at the Druesberghütte. A cosy little place which is simple and traditional but offers you a decent dinner in a fun atmosphere. As a starter, they served the “cold platter with curry sauce” which was good.
What I really loved though was the “cheese fondue” as it was not only tasty but also generous in terms of size and they really made it delicious with an offering of bread, potatoes, onions, and pineapple to dip in the cheese.
For dessert, they served “giant meringues”. And the spoons are not of the size of a regular spoon but humongous which makes it a bit difficult to eat but also makes it quite hilarious if you’re in a bigger group.
The real fun begins after all of this though – when it is time to sit on the sled and slide down the hill again. Bring warm clothes and lights – else you’ll end up somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the forest. All in all, the hike and sledding are more the experience than the food but still – worth visiting.
