A truly Italian restaurant in central Zurich: Restaurant La Baracca (7. May 2019)
The La Baracca remains an all time favorite of mine. The place is atmospheric, intense, loud – Italian as it should be! It is pivotal to book a table in advance as else you won’t stand a chance to score one last minute. When I had arrived around 9pm, all the tables were taken. As a starter I went for “La Caprese “a modo mio” (tettona, pomodori, guacamole, olive)” (CHF 21.50) which is a modern interpretation of a typical caprese salad and overall good and to my gusto.
The “tagliatelle ‘del Birichino’ (fonduta di taleggio, funghi, piselli, tartufo, panna, parmigiano)” (CHF 34.50) were cooked al dente as it should be and the sauce was fine – very intense and heavy due to the large amount of cream used but tasty.
I truly like the atmosphere of the place – and the friendliness and swiftness of the service. I can recommend the La Baracca anytime – worth visiting, and worth booking in advance!
