Not the French bakery you’d expect: Restaurant Maison Kayser (15. June 2019)

The Mayson Kaiser looked more promising from the outside than it actually turned out to be. From the outside, it looked like a nice little French café where you have your peace and it wouldn’t be that noisy. Quite the opposite was the truth. The place was quite crowded and actually super loud. The service was at least friendly and seated and attended us straight away. However, for some very unclear reason we couldn’t pick the table we originally wanted to. Which got filled up later then.

I went for the “avocat et deux oeufs (avocado, feta cheese, salsa verde, red onions on quinoa bread with two organic eggs scrambled)” (14.50 USD) “with a side of bacon” (+ 4.00 USD). I think the price for the bacon is too high and the egg wasn’t really that amazing. The avocado breads on the other hand were amazing! Great way to start your day!

The “daily selection of freshly baked bread with butter and jam” (5.50 USD) looked – at first- like quite a small portion but is actually more than enough. What was a bit weird on the other hand was the fact that they only offered salted butter with jam. I personally like salted butter a lot but combining it with sweet jam somehow is not that much to my gusto.

The waitress was friendly and helpful at all times which I appreciate a lot and the “double espresso” (4.25 USD) and “Badoit (0.75l)” (5.50 USD) arrived in no time. All in all, I would still say, pick another location for breakfast, this doesn’t really do the trick.
