Small menu but lovely service and good food: Restaurant 50 zu 5 (21. June 2019)
I had visited the 50 zu 5 once about a year ago for dinner and wasn’t really blown away by it. What they offer for lunch is quite delicious though – although the menu is super small with two starters and two mains. I went for the “strawberry gazpacho with cucumber, bell pepper, MELISSE and olive oil” (CHF 12.00) which I was quite skeptical about but which was actually delicious in terms of flavor and consistency.
Now, the main was definitely a ‘new’ for me – the “roasted cauliflower, Onsen egg, potatoes, curry sauce and herb salad” (CHF 22.00) is not the dish I would usually pick if I had a choice – but somehow it sounded more appealing to me than the chicken. And it was surprisingly good for not containing any meat!
The place itself is quite lovely as it is relatively spacious, you get your privacy because it wasn’t really fully booked – and the waitress was incredibly friendly and lovely making sure that you would get everything in due time and always with a smile on her face! Definitely worth returning for lunch!
