Quite authentic Arabic mezze: Restaurant Le Mezzerie de Moudi (27. June 2019)
The Le Mezzerie de Moudi is a lovely place where you get great Arabic mezze. When it’s warm as it was the past weeks, then it is perfect to sit outside – however, you might want to chose the less busy side of the building where there isn’t a bus running by every five to ten minutes. And, also because the waitresses see you better at the other side of the building. Once, I was able to get the waitress’ attention, it turned out she was absolutely friendly and swift. The “hummus with beef (chick peas mousse, beef stripes and pine nuts)” (CHF 13.00) was actually absolutely lovely. Only the initial amount of pita bread provided was rather limited – but whenever you ask for more, you get more.
Secondly, we’ve ordered a bunch of different plates to share like the “avocado cream (avocado, lime juice, mint)” (CHF 9.00), “muhamarra (sweet-spicy walnut paste, pomegranate syrup)” (CHF 12.00), “tabouleh (quinoa, fresh tomato cubes, parsley)” (CHF 13.00), “halloumi (grilled cheese with fig jam)” (CHF 13.50) or “lahme bajin (beef dumplings)” (CHF 9.50). And while I was not such a fan of the avocado cream, I must admit that all the other dishes are absolutely tasty!
All in all, the Restaurant Le Mezzerie de Moudi is a place you should definitely visit – lovely atmosphere, good service, tasty dishes, and fair in price!
