Decent but not worth queuing for: Monkey Bar @ 25hours Hotel (13. July 2019)
Somehow I have always so much about the Monkey Bar in any 25hours hotel and finally it was time to give the one in Berlin a shot. The place is absolutely crowded also on a Saturday afternoon – which was a bit surprising to me as the interior is definitely nice somehow and atmospheric but not that amazing really. So, getting a table turns out to be rather tricky but with some patience (as the turnover is rather high), all is possible. Once you are able to place your order, it takes a bit until everything is served. I went for the “Vodka Basil Smash (Citrus Infused Vodka, Lemon, Basil)” (EUR 12.50) with a “Hummus Plate (classic; served with pita bread)” (EUR 7.00).
The drink is rather green but also nicely intense so quite enjoyable overall. The hummus was good but doesn’t reach the original quality you would get in the Middle East. However, all in all, the food is nice and in combination with a drink, it is perfect to sit down and nibble. At least the waiters are jovial as they are not the quickest. So, if you are up for trying the Monkey Bar, it’s not wrong but it is also not worth queuing for.
