10. November 2009: Restaurant Demetria Cafè

| November 11, 2009 | 0 Comments

The demetria cafè is located right across the street of Bocconi University, near to via Röntgen. You won’t see it at first sight if you’re passing because it’s a quite small place, max. 3 meters wide. But once you actually found it, it really pays off to enter this little place.

It looks very nice on the inside: It looks a bit like an acyetic place at first sight but as it’s covered in wood and both walls are full with wine bottles, you really start to feel comfortabe right away.

The owner of the place welcomes you warmly and serves you within a minute with the menu. We enjoyed an aperitivo which is brought to the table by the waiter and consists of different bread, meat and cheese. Together with a glass of wine or a beer it costs 7 euros. The products are fresh and accordingly good is their taste. The variety of the dishes available was a bit disappointing though. Later the evening I had a plate of pasta which was very good but – the special taste was somehow missing though.

A very pleasant surprise was the kindness and friendliness of the owner of the place as he offered us the “rest of the bottle” of wine after I’ve consumed 4 glasses. He even opened a bottle of wine for me to try by the glass which is usually sold by the bottle only. Furthermore, we got offered different coffees to try from and to decide which are more preferable.

The service and atmosphere is great and combined with the price-performance ratio, the place is definitely recommended to visit, sit down, chill out and enjoy and talk.
