Good service but disappointing in any other way: Restaurant Lo Güeno (24. December 2019)
The Lo Güeno was recommended in the tourist guide book I had bought before the trip and passing it randomly while being quite hungry looked like a sign, so I had to give it a try. I went for the “tomate y anchoas del Cantábrico” (EUR 14.00) which is an incredibly simple dish but absolutely enjoyable. However, EUR 14.00 for some tomatoes and one anchovy tin box seems a bit off.
The “fideos negros con vieiras, langostinos y setas (black noodles with scallops, prawns and mushrooms)” (EUR 12.00) was not really a revelation. I mean, there were noodles, there was seafood, and there was some sauce. But frankly, not really something super enjoyable. I was personally a bit disappointed by the food.
While the prices are more on the touristic side of things (i.e. rather expensive), there is one thing I’d like to point out – the service. Although I arrived shortly before they were closing, they made sure that there was some food (everyone who came later was turned down though) and they were not only friendly but also rather swift in serving the food. All in all, the Lo Güeno might have been suggested by the tourist guide book but isn’t really a place I’d return to.
