6. February 2011: Caffè Luigi Tambosi im Hofgarten
A great atmosphere, although a bit weird, good beer but lousy service – fair prices though. You can sit outside and the chairs are set up like you’re sitting in a cinema which is a bit weird at first and also pretty unpractical if you’re more than two people but it is also somehow nice as it is uncommon. You first have to wait a few minutes (more than 10) until the waiter actually realizes you’re there. When you tell him that you want to order something, he replies pretty rude that he’ll be there in a few minutes. Once you’ve placed your order (just a beer) it takes them another 5 to 10 minutes to actually bring you the beer which is at least okay in price (3.50 EUR for 0,5L).
The Tambosi is nice as you can sit outside when the sun is shining and you can watch all the people walking over Odeonsplatz which is quite entertaining. The service is pretty bad though – but somehow you get the feeling that it just doesn’t matter that much when you’re out sitting in the sun.
