A simple little restaurant with delicious meat dishes: Restaurant Ojo de Agua (15. January 2020)

| February 27, 2020 | 0 Comments

It is a good 5 years ago since I’ve last been at the Ojo de Agua in Frankfurt and when I walked by today, I definitely felt like I should pay the restaurant another visit. I was lucky as I was the last one to get a meat course (given they only prepare specific amount per day, and once it’s out, it’s out). As a starter, I went for the “palm hearts with tomato truffle chutney” (EUR 6.00) which was tasty – especially because of the chutney which was mouth-watering!

As a main, I went for the “filet and bife de chorizo with salad” (EUR 32.00) which was absolutely delicious – the meat was aromatic, tender and just perfectly prepared in terms of consistency and flavor. The sauce was the respective finishing element which made a good dish great.

The salad which was served with it was good but a tiny bit too much sauce for my understanding. The “PURO, Corte d’Oro” (0.2l, EUR 17.00) was a good choice of wine making the dinner even more enjoyable.

The Ojo de Agua is a rather small restaurant with only about 20 seats, so it is recommendable to book a table in advance. However, if you’re lucky you might score a table or get a seat at the bar. The service is friendly and helpful – but there are sometimes smaller waiting times when they are super busy as there aren’t that many waiters for the number of guests. And they take their time to make sure you’ll enjoy it – which can lead to minor waiting times for other guests. In any case, I can highly recommend you to visit the Ojo de Agua when you’re in Frankfurt – just make sure to book a table in advance.
