10. February 2011: Restaurant Kruse Baimken

| February 13, 2011 | 0 Comments

As a starter I had “Baked Camembert with cranberries, toast and butter” (EUR 7.60). The baked Camembert was good but rather common. The salad was okay, the toast was pretty boring and not really properly toasted. The cranberries fit pretty good though with the camembert.

The rumpsteak (200 gr.) from the angus beef with pepper cream sauce, salad” (EUR 11.90), and fried potatoes (EUR 2.90) was astonishingly good. The meat was quite tender and tasty. The sauce on the other hand was pretty tasteless. The salad was then again okay while the fried potatoes were a bit too oily but still acceptable.

Especially for the price and the fact that I didn’t expect anything from the restaurant quality-wise I must say the dishes were quite good. The atmosphere is somewhat non-existent. The interior is made out of wood and pretty old-fashioned. To me it seemed like an old-fashioned traditional German restaurant – nothing wrong with that, just not really appealing to stay there for longer. The service is friendly but it was probably a bit too much that we’ve been a group of around 12 people. Apparently much more than they’re used to. The prices are ridiculously low for what you get. I mean, the dishes are not outstanding but for the price the served food is truly great!

If you’re looking for cheap and sound food, the Restaurant Kruse Baimken is definitely the right place to go! Not so far from the Restaurant Kruse Baimken is the Restaurant @Hotel Mövenpick Münster, and the Ristorante Mocca d’Or.
