Delicious sushi where you wouldn’t expect it: Restaurant Izasa-Nakatani-hompo Yumekaze-hiroba (11. March 2020)

| April 5, 2020 | 0 Comments

When you visit Nara, respectively the Nara park, you either have to eat something before you go there or you should visit the Izasa-Nakatani-hompo Yumekaze-hiroba restaurant. There are a few restaurants around but if you look at the reviews, none of them looked like I would feel comfortable visiting any of them. The Izasa-Nakatani-hompo Yumekaze-hiroba seems to be the nice exception and I get why. If you enter you wonder a bit where to eat as downstairs there is only a “take away” with two tables which aren’t very inviting. However, if you go upstairs you actually end up in the eating area of the restaurant which is quite nice.

I went for the “Izasa Sushi and Tempura Set (5 pieces of sushi (Kakinoha and Izasa sushi) with assorted tempura, sesame tofu and Soumen noodles)” (1’780 Yen) which was great in terms of diversity of things to eat, flavors as well as ingredients. Plus, it looked so pretty!

But it doesn’t stop there with the pretty – if you get a window seat, you get a view onto the Great Buddha Hall of Nara which is quite impressive plus it’s perfect to people watch …

… making the whole lunch experience an absolutely memorable one!

As always, the amount of English spoken is rather limited but they definitely compensate it with friendliness and support throughout the whole process making sure you have everything you need and want in time. I can definitely recommend the Izasa-Nakatani-hompo Yumekaze-hiroba as a restaurant to eat while you are in Nara park!
