Outstanding service and decent udon noodles: Restaurant Gourmet Kineya (13. March 2020)
Given the ‘dinner’ at the Sheraton Club Lounge was not satisfactory, I decided to hit a spot somewhere in its vicinity and ended up in the “Gourmet Kineya” which – I found out later – seems to be a chain across Japan. Given arrival was 10 minutes before their last order (7:30pm), I had to pick something quickly and I went for the “Beef Udon Noodle Soup” (980 Yen) which was prepared in almost no time and within a few minutes, I had my food in front of me and it was a tasty broth with good noodles and fine meat. So, definitely something enjoyable – simple, but enjoyable.
What was impressive was the speed of the service. The waitresses were all above 45 and were basically almost running to keep the restaurant going. It was impressive to see how fast and friendly they were making sure you’d have everything you wanted within almost no time! The place itself is not that impressive in terms of interior decoration but fine. So, if you are looking for a super quick dinner which is generally tasty and competent service, the Gourmet Kineya is definitely an okay place to find this.
