Surprisingly delicious lunch where I had not expected it: Restaurant Volkshaus (24. August 2020)
Admittedly, the Restaurant Volkshaus is a place I haven’t been to in a while and somehow I also wasn’t aware that they have lunch menus but it turns out, they do and they are actually great. I went for the “tomato cream soup” as a starter which was not only rich but also nice as it wasn’t “packaged”.
The “Scottish salmon filet with Sauce Béarnaise, fennel and celeriac potato mash” (CHF 29.50) was a tasty and light lunch dish which was very enjoyable. However, the portion was a bit tiny and did not entirely do the trick in terms of satisfaction.
The place is perfect for Corona as you have a lot of space between the single tables which is great as it allows them to adhere to the social distancing measures. The waitress was swift and friendly and made sure that we had everything within a few minutes. So, pretty much perfect service. All in all, I can recommend the Restaurant Volkshaus for lunch.
