Business lunch – almost like in Bavaria: Restaurant Bauschänzli (17. September 2020)
Somehow I have always associated the Restaurant Bauschänzli with the Swiss version of the “Oktoberfest” and wasn’t really visiting it too often. And I suppose my assumption wasn’t entirely off. What you get here are basically simple but hearty dishes for lunch. I went for the “perch crisps in beer dough with tartare sauce and fries” (CHF 28.50) which was a generous serving (although it does look tiny in the picture). The fried fish was good and the sauce tartare was plenty – so perfect for a hearty lunch.
The place is quite nice when you get to sit close to the lake and enjoy the nice atmosphere and the last sun rays of the year. The service ladies are friendly and attentive and make sure you have everything. It does remind you a bit of the Oktoberfest, respectively when you’re in one of these traditional restaurants in Munich. But in a pleasant way. Just make sure to book your table in advance, as else it will be tricky to get a table for lunch.
