A mouth-watering experience combining Asian with Swiss flavors: Restaurant Eden Kitchen & Bar (25. November 2020)

While the La Muña was actually the place which was on my agenda to finally try out, it was closed, so I decided to give the downstairs restaurant “Eden Kitchen & Bar” a try. And luckily they still had availability plus offered a short excerpt of the upstairs La Muña menu. I went for the “Maguro Ceviche (red tuna ceviche, sesame, shiso)” (CHF 36.00) which was great because the tuna pieces were thick and junky and the marinade in which they were served was absolutely delicious. However, CHF 36.00 for that is a bit at the upper level of the price scale for the size of the portion.

The “Zürcher Geschnetzeltes ‘La Réserve’ with sweetbreads” (CHF 67.00) is definitely a pricey endeavor but also one worth trying as the dish is actually deliciously outstanding in terms of flavor and intensity of taste.

While the “roesti” is tasty, it is a bit tiny compared to the amount of meat and sauce you get. So they could definitely be a bit more generous here. However, all in all, the dish is absolutely delicious and definitely making your taste buds jump around happily.

What was surprising me a it was when I ordered a glass of white wine to start and chose the “Grüner Veltliner, Schloss Gobelsburg, DAC Kamptal Reserve, Austria”. Now, first of all, the wine was exquisite, I might say ‘outstanding’. However, charging CHF 22.00 for a glass of white without informing the customer first seemed a bit odd, i.e. off for my personal gusto. However, the service is friendly, attentive, and relatively swift. Only when it came to ordering a second bottle of water (CHF 10.00), it took them longer than it should have. All in all though, I can absolutely recommend the Eden Kitchen & Bar – outstanding atmosphere, great dishes, lovely and friendly service, heavy prices though.
