Not really the kind of breakfast I’m into: Restaurant Brunch & Cake – The Pointe (23. January 2021)
My last meal out before catching Corona – Brunch & Cake is definitely a place which offers decent breakfast, on the heavier side though. The “eggs carbonara (slow-cooked scrambled eggs with truffle oil, beef bacon, mushrooms, grated Parmesan and chicken and mushroom croquettes, served on a full butter croissant)” (AED 68.00) with “additional halloumi” (10 AED) are more than a meal. Actually, it feels like it’s almost too. And personally, for me, it was way too much – especially since the food is rather heavy!
The “pimientos de padrón” on the other hand were somewhat disappointing! Frankly speaking, they were way too stroppy and lacked all kind of crisp – so, not really something I’d recommend. Then again, if you’re going to a breakfast place – what do you really expect? Exactly!
Personally, this wasn’t one of my favorites as the food was too heavy for breakfast. And it was not even that great. But locally, it’s an absolute thing. You can’t book a table but you have to go there, tell them that you want to eat and they put you on a waiting list so you finally get called at some point in time and are informed that your table is available now. Way to keep it exclusive but – from my perspective – not really worth it.
