Absolutely delicious and mouth-watering lunch options: Restaurant Brisket Southern BBQ & Bar (29. April 2021)
It is almost 1.5 years ago since I have last been at hte Restaurant Brisket Southern BBQ & Bar and after this visit I was wondering why I wouldn’t go more often. Or, to rephrase it, I will definitely go more often in the future. They offer a decent lunch menu starting with a “menu salad” which is small but served swiftly and actually overall tasty. I like a lot that they are also adding different ingredients and don’t leave it a simple green salad.
Now, what was really pushing my taste buds was the “brisket platter (served with homemade pickles and white bread) and coleslaw” (CHF 27.90) which was looking like not too much (and frankly, in my opinion, they could have added another slice of meat) but it was overall quite okay in terms of size. And it was great in terms of taste. The brisket was actually mouth-watering and incredibly enjoyable. The meat was tender inside and would basically dissolve in your mouth while there was still a nice crust outside which made it crunchy and gave it these tasty grill notes.
While it is a bit tricky to eat outside when it’s cold, they offer at least an area which is protected form the rain. And the service is friendly and relatively swift. Prices are very decent overall although for the beverages they are at the upper part of what I consider okay with CHF 9.00 for a large bottle of water and CHF 6.50 for a double espresso.
Besides that the place is actually not only good in terms of food and flavor but they are also quite funny – the sign made me giggle a bit. All in all, I can recommend the Brisket Southern BBQ & Bar – definitely a good choice. And I suppose when either there are normal times or the weather is good, it’s pivotal to book a table in advance.
