Delicious Italian lunch offer: Restaurant Don Leone Stauffacher (4. May 2021)
Despite the cold weather, it was great to sit outside and be able to have a proper meal. It is key though to bring a jacket and make sure you’re warm enough as else it is somewhat uncomfortable. The Don Leone Stauffacher doesn’t offer too many tables outside so booking in advance is highly recommended. I started with a “bufala con pomodori e basilico ‘caprese'” (CHF 15.50) which was fine. The tomatoes were a bit too unripe but the bufala was tasty although a bit dense. With some nice olive oil and a hint of salt, it was a good start.
The “Pizza Illusione (pomodoro, mozzarella, pomodorini, mozzarella di bufala, basilico, acchiughe)” (CHF 23.50) was delicious. After the bufala as a starter it was a bit too much bufala all in all, but the pizza was nice since the crust was thin, crispy, and the toppings were generous and, personally, the combination of bufala, tomato, and anchovies was amazing!
The service was friendly and swift – the order was taken and executed swiftly. And you would ultimately get a good dish within a short time for a fair price. Just make sure to book a table in advance!
