An absolutely decent tex mex experience – if you’re looking for one: Restaurant Café Especial (13. July 2021)
After the “Latin American” food experience the night before, I was rather skeptical about another one of these restaurants but it turned out that the Café Especial was actually better. The “nacho chips” which were served to start were fine but definitely not Mexican.
The “chili colorado (tender beef cubes in spicy chili sauce, served in a hot pan with Mexican rice, frijoles and wheat tortillas)” (EUR 17.50) on the other hand was actually quite delicious. Now, not really the original Mexican dish either but all in all really tasty and enjoyable.
And quite a portion to be honest – you would definitely be satisfied with such a portion.
The “bucket of Corona” (EUR 23.40) helped to enjoy the dinner even more and wash down the abundance of food. The whole processes was aided by a friendly and swift waitress who ensured that we had everything in time. So, all in all, while not a true Mexican experience, it’s quite a fine tex mex restaurant you can definitely visit.
