Delicious Chilean food with super friendly service: Restaurant La Tia Rica (16. August 2021)

| September 26, 2021 | 0 Comments

The Restaurant La Tia Rica looked promising online with a rating of 4.6 on Google which is pretty high. So, to be sure I was actually having a space (since it also started raining), I booked a table in advance and it definitely turned out to be a good idea. The place was absolutely full once I had arrived and people were sent away the moment I arrived.

I started with a “empanada de pino (big dumpling made in the oven, filled with beef, olives, onions, egg)” (EUR 4.70 which was quite a portion but also quite delicious to start.

Since I wanted to try more then one empanada, I also went for the “empanada de camarones y queso (fried dumpling filled with scampi and cheese)” (EUR 3.30) which was fine but not really my favorite thing. The “ceviche de reineta (ceviche, raw redfish, marinated with lime, onions, chili and coriander, served on a salad bouquet)” (EUR 13.00) on the other hand was super refreshing and enjoyable. I liked the crunchiness of the corn which was served with it.

As a main, I went for the “pata chancho” (EUR 17.00) which is basically a suckling pig or rather a piece of it. As a side I got black rice and I must say that both was good but the rice was somehow almost swimming in water – which wasn’t nice at all. So, I definitely didn’t like this part.

The service is super friendly and swift and made sure that things came within a relatively short period of time which made it perfect for a brief dinner break. The place is simple yet appealing, so all in all, I can definitely recommend you the La Tia Rica. Booking in advance highly recommended.
