Definitely overrated but with a nice view: Restaurant La Terrass @ Terrass Hotel (24. September 2021)

The Restaurant La Terrass offers one thing – which is a nice view over Paris. Other than that, it’s a hyped place. To be fair, the start was nice since they were relatively attentive and brought the drinks quite swiftly. Other than that, the “amuse bouche” was dumplings which were similar to empanadas and they were fine.

As a starter, I went for the “crab meat, celery, Granny Smith apples, verbena” (EUR 20.00) which was absolutely decent in terms of quality and flavor. Not really outstanding in the sense of amazing but good, and definitely too small for a starter for EUR 20.00.

The “lamb cooked for 7 hours, smoked aubergines, Serrano and virgin sauce, Parmesan tomatoes” (EUR 34.00) was not really up to where it should have been. The lamb was definitely too dry and, therefore, not really that enjoyable. I mean, it wasn’t bad since the flavors were okay but it was too dry. So, not really what blows your mind.

The fact that you get to watch the kitchen prepare the food is lovely – however, after having tried a few of their dishes (see above), not so sure I would work with an open kitchen. Again, it’s not bad but it’s really kind of disappointing.

All in all, I would probably not go to the La Terrass for dinner again. There is a rooftop bar next door which offers, if you score a good table, a nice view onto Paris by night. That one I would rather attend and enjoy the view. The restaurant, not so much.
