Simple but good Indian food: Restaurant Rice & Curry (26. October 2021)
Sometimes you end up in a restaurant where you hadn’t really planned to end up in and the Rice & Curry was one of these places. However, sometimes you’re positively surprised and today was such a day. I went for a “Mango Lassi” (EUR 3.10) to start which was nice and got some crispy Indian bread served on the side.
As a started I went for the “Paneer Pakora (cottage cheese baked in chick pea dough)” (EUR 4.50) which was rather average and the red sauce didn’t really taste like it was freshly prepared. So, the starter wasn’t really a thing I’d repeat.
The “Chicken Tikka Masala (grilled chicken filet in yogurt coconut sauce)” (EUR 17.90) on the other hand was definitely on the more expensive side for Germany but it was also rather good and the chicken chunks were rather big and good in quality. So, for that I’d definitely come back.
What made me laugh a little was the inscription they had on the wall since I considered it rather funny – “in curry we trust”. These days there is definitely worse things you can trust in!
All in all, the Rice & Curry is too far outside of the city for it to really be a place you need to go to again – however, there is also definitely worse options than this place to eat when you’re in the vicinity.
