Not sure how this restaurant ended up in the Top 15: Restaurant No Sé Nada (27. November 2021)

Since it was the last evening in Puerto Vallarta I was really hoping to find a place which would blow my mind. Well, it did. But not how I had planned it. The No Sé Nada restaurant is apparently No. 11 of all restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and I highly wonder why. Okay, let’s be fair here and start from the beginning. The place was booked when we arrived so there were no tables available on the upper floor where you would have a lovely view but at least downstairs. Being hungry, we agreed.

I went for the “bbaked panela cheese (panela adobada con diferentes tipos de chiles en polvo y especias rostizada al horno)” (120 MXN) and while I didn’t really know what I had to expect from ‘baked panela cheese’, I must say I didn’t really like it. It is super bland – gains a bit with the sauce which it is served with, but other than that nothing I can recommend.

The “Tot Lot Tator Tots (croquetas de papa con queso cheddar y esecies acompañado con mayo habanero)” (90 MXN) were definitely better and more enjoyable but then again you cannot fuck up potato croquettes a lot really.

I went for the special of the week which was a “filet mignon” (305 MXN) and I must say that was the biggest disappointment. The meat wasn’t cooked medium as I had requested but too much (which was mainly due to the fact that they were done with the mains before we were done with the starters leading to the dishes sitting there and the meat cooking more by itself). Other than that, the meat didn’t taste like anything really – I like if meat tastes like something but it really was just missing taste. Other than that, the ‘mushroom sauce’ was more a few mushrooms on top and the whole potato mash with vegetables below wasn’t anything either really.

So, frankly, not a place I would come again for the food. However, the place is super lovely in terms of interior decoration …

… and the service crew really does its best to make customers happy. They are friendly, attentive, and take care of you. When I gave my plate back, half full still, I was asked how I liked it and the waitress came later offering free desserts as a compensation which I didn’t take because I was too full already. But the pure fact that they look at the customer and take care of his/her needs is definitely something which speaks for the service staff.

So, to sum it up – the place is great – besides the food. Maybe I was unlucky, maybe it was a bad night, I don’t know, but it is definitely not something I would recommend in terms of food experience.
