When a random restaurant walk-in actually turns out nice: Restaurant Rosso sul Mare (10. December 2021)

It’s funny when you walk into a place which has a good rating and then it turns out to be another place – which is okay too. I somehow overlooked the restaurant I originally wanted to go into – and was wondering why the menu was strongly Italian-based when I got it. However, I didn’t figure that I was in another restaurant than I had planned until I left the place.

I decided to go for the “variaciones de entrantes de mar” (EUR 23.00) and was kindly informed by the waiter that this would potentially already be enough and no additional main course was needed. I was skeptical about it but it turned out to be right.

What you get is basically one plate of warm starters and one plate of cold starters like “gambas en pasta kataifi, mermelada de naranja, pure de patas”, “pulpo a la plancha con patatas”, “tatar de atún, aguacate, aire de lima y sambuca”, and “sauté de mejillones con crostino de ajo”.

It looked all nice and okay but it wasn’t really something too appealing all in all. Somehow, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. However, the place is nice since you have a lovely view from the terrace onto the ocean and when you sit for a bit, which I did, people leave and it becomes quiet and you get to enjoy that.

The staff makes sure you have everything you need and want. So, despite of it not being the best ever food experience, the place is lovely, the staff is friendly, and the view is gorgeous. So, to relax and enjoy your afternoon, I can recommend you to try the Rosso sul Mare.
