A delicious place for a tasty Vietnamese lunch: Restaurant Hanoi’s Corner (5. March 2022)

| April 24, 2022 | 0 Comments

If you’re looking for a Vietnamese lunch experience with plenty of tasty dishes, swift service, and for a fair price, the Hanoi’s Corner is the right place to come to. Despite being Saturday at lunch, booking in advance was not necessary since the place wasn’t really booked out. However, since it’s not massive in terms of space, I would still recommend you to book in advance.

We went for a selection of different starters to like the “Vit Hoisin (crispy duck with salad, peanuts, and homemade hoisin sauce)” (EUR 5.50), the “Yakitori (3 Japanese chicken skewers on fresh salad and teriyaki sauce, seasoned with sesame seeds)” (EUR 4.90), the “Edamame (steamed Japanese soybeans as a healthy source of protein with sea salt)” (EUR 4.50) and the “Siu Mai (5 steamed dumplings with prawn and meat)” (EUR 4.90). I absolutely loved the crispy duck with salad – it was super intense and tasty. The fact that the meat was crispy and plenty was quite a perfect combination to get started. The rest was well too, but not as great as the duck.

As a mian, I went for more duck since it’s a kind of meat I seldomly eat at home. The “Fried Rice Special (egg fried rice in wok with chili, garlic, chicken, shrimp, seasonal vegetables on crispy grilled duck seasoned with leeks and Asian herbs, served with a sweet chili sauce)” (EUR 13.90) was quite a large portion but definitely enjoyable. The duck wasn’t as good as for the starter but still tasty.

The “Mint-Elder-Flower ice tea (fresh mint, lime, apple juice, elderflower, yasmine tea with ice cubes)” (EUR 5.50) and “lemongrass mint tea (fresh lemongrass, ginger, lime, mint, honey)” (EUR 3.90) are both fine in terms of quality of the dish but they are quite expensive for what you get. At least the ice tea is.

The place is simple in terms of interior design but still overall appealing. On top of that, the waitress is friendly and swift making sure you have everything you want and need within due time. All in all, the Hanoi’s Corner is a good place to get a quick and tasty bite.
