When you’re positively surprised by a vegan-only place: Restaurant Roots @ Balboa (19. April 2022)

I must admit, I didn’t have high expectations for this place, but figured I might as well give it a try. Since I wanted something which could potentially resemble meat a bit, I went for the “Green Curry Bowl (jasmine rice, green curry, peas, snow peas, broccoli, grapes, chick peas, marinated kale, coco chips, seed mix)” (CHF 23.00) which turned out to be quite delicious. It truly resembled a curry and was overall enjoyable. The only downside was that the broccoli wasn’t really warmed up, but still a bit cold on the inside, which was not really that great in terms of taste experience.

Other than that, the place is actually nice – in terms of interior design, in terms of speed of delivery of the ordered dishes, and in terms of friendliness of the staff. The other small downside was the price of the “Immune Booster (carrot, orange, turmeric, lemon, ginger)” which was a regular 0.3L glass and cost CHF 11.00. But, for a quick and tasty lunch, I can definitely recommend the Roots @ Balboa.
