Great Chinese lunch offering: Restaurant Lychee (22. April 2022)
Somehow this turned out to be my Asian food weekend – so I ended up at Lychee, which is a Chinese restaurant. I started with “six mixed dim sum (2x Sui Mai (chicken with Chinese mushrooms and water chestnuts), 2x Ha Gau (shrimp in rice dough), 2x Hsiao Long Bao (pork in wheat dough)) (EUR 8.00) which good as a starter. For me, the dumplings were a tiny bit too mushy, but other than that quite delicious in terms of content and flavour.
The “curry duck (spicy) (crispy duck with vegetables in spicy curry sauce)” (EUR 17.90 on the menu, but they only charged EUR 15.90) with additional “fried rice” (EUR 4.50) was great. The duck was nicely crispy and lovely in terms of flavour. The crispy skin was just perfect. The fried rice was exquisite, and the curry was spicy but still pleasant.
The “Ginger Tea” (EUR 4.00) came with some kind of on top element, making it somewhat interesting. I liked the concept of the little wire in the pot, so stuff wouldn’t fall out.
The place is relatively simple, clean, orderly, but nothing exciting. The service is very friendly and attentive. All in all, you get a good lunch deal at the Lychee with friendly and professional service at a very decent price point.
