A sound breakfast option when you stay here: Lobby Restaurant @ Palacio Santa Clara, Autograph Collection (7. May 2022)
I absolutely love the Palacio Santa Clara as the place is beautiful, and the staff is super professional and friendly. And that is also true for the staff which attends you while you are having breakfast – bit shout out to Patricia here since she really excels in terms of being friendly and making sure you have everything you need and want. Other than that, while the breakfast is good, it isn’t really the biggest of selections you get here. I went for the “Artisan bakery toasts made with sourdough” and the “selection of assorted cold meat” which as quite okay. I mean, the bread is good and so are the cold cuts, but on the menu they are offering something like five different meats, and ultimately you get served chorizo and salami.
The “avocado and fresh cheese” are a bit of something else. I personally absolutely liked the fresh cheese – however, the avocado, while it looked lovely, was somewhat hard to bite so not entirely enjoyable. I would somehow expect that you get avocado ripe to eat when you offer it for breakfast.
What they really excel at though are their omelets. The “ham and cheese omelet” I had, was tremendous – and so was the bacon and cheese omelet I had the next day.
The “home-made Spanish tortilla” on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment.
While the “fruit platter” was small but had a nice selection of good nice fresh fruit.
The Lobby Restaurant is lovely in terms of interior design but due to the fact that it’s more a lounge than a restaurant, the sofas in which you’re seated are rather low making it a bit annoying to eat since everything is a bit above them, and you have to reach up. So, as much as I love the place and as good as the breakfast is when it’s part of your benefits as a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite member, it isn’t really a place I would come to for breakfast.
