A lovely speakeasy with great drinks: The Blind Pig (22. May 2022)
The Blind Pig is a Speakeasy which you should absolutely book in advance. The place is hidden and easy to find if you know how. Basically, you have to look for the Restaurant Pacino’s …
… walk in and follow the “shhh” sign …
… and push the little piggies head to the left and the bookshelf, which is really a door, will open.
Once you’re inside and brought to your table, you get to order your drinks in that former wine cellar. I started out with a “Dryad (cucumber gin, blanc rum, herbal elixir, ancho chili, hedgerow tincture, fennel and cucumber soda)” (EUR 13.00) which was quite decent but nothing mind-blowing.
The “D.C Swanson (apple brandy, peated Irish whiskey, blackcurrant, beetroot caramel, apple balsamic, sea salt)” (EUR 13.00) I went for after was rather enjoyable though. The combination of flavours was definitely an interesting one, but it was also a delicious one.
The staff is super friendly and relaxed, emitting a positive and enjoyable vibe. To sum it up, it’s not the best speak easy I have been to, but it’s definitely a lovely place which I can recommend you to visit if you’re looking for a good drink in an interesting atmosphere.
