The perfect pitstop for a quick Vietnamese lunch break: Restaurant Cao Cao (28. July 2022)
What I truly love about Germany and Berlin is that you get delicious food for almost nothing. The Cao Cao offers that when it comes to Vietnamese food. I went for the “Nem Cuôn (2 Vietnamese chicken summer rolls stuffed with rice noodles, fresh mint wrapped in rice paper, served with HoiSin sauce)” (EUR 3.50) to start which looks a bit tiny in the picture, but the rolls were actually quite big, and definitely tasty. The fact that the HoiSin sauce was warm was something new to me – and something I quite enjoyed.
The “Bún Bò (aromatic sautéed beef with garlic served on rice noodles, salad, roasted onions, coriander and herbs, topped with a lime fish sauce and peanuts)” (EUR 10.50) which I had as a main was definitely delicious. A lot of herbs making it full of flavour – mixing the ingredients in a way so you would be ready to indulge.
The place itself is rather simple, but serves its purpose. The staff is very friendly and the kitchen is quick. So, if you’re hungry, and feel like sitting down and eating something delicious for a fair price, swiftly, then the Cao Cao is your place to go.
