A lovely restaurant with an outside patio in the shadows: Restaurant Aurora (9. August 2022)

Somehow I never really consciously realized the Aurora – although I have had events there, I was somehow not aware of the restaurant per se although seeing it when walking by many times. Still, I’m always looking for new restaurants I haven’t tried yet, I decided to give the Aurora a try. I went for the “cold cucumber soup with cucumber ice cream” (CHF 16.00) which was truly refreshing, and a nice change compared to the regular summer gazpachos you get in so many restaurants.

As a main, I went for the “Milk Lamb Rack (lemon gremolata, pomegranate)” (CHF 54.00) which was a massive portion! It did not only look big, it was actually a big plate. And a tasty one – the quality of the meat was great, the lamb is nicely rose and full of flavour. So, truly a delicious main.

The “creamy leave spinach” (CHF 7.00) was interesting in thus far as that it was served in some kind of curry sauce, providing it with a nice and interesting flavour profile.

The “risotto with Parmesan cheese” (CHF 7.00) was smooth, creamy, and tasty. It was a bit too dense for my personal gusto, but still enjoyable.

The place is also lovely because you get to sit outside in the shadows, which allows you to relax outside and chill even when everything around is soaring hot since the area is covered by the shadow of the surrounding trees. The waitress was friendly and swift – only when it came to settling the bill, it took much longer than with everything else, making it a bit annoying. Other than that, I can recommend the Aurora – good dishes, lovely setting, but not necessarily on the cheap side.
