Outstanding Italian cuisine with great service – but also not really a rooftop: Restaurant LEO (16. August 2022)

| September 27, 2022 | 0 Comments

Given I was not really blown away by the other restaurant on the rooftop of Globus, I decided to give the other one a try too, and booked a table at LEO. LEO is basically an Italian restaurant which has about the same kind of rooftop experience as the restaurant next door. So, not necessarily a place which is too amazing considering the atmosphere, but definitely a restaurant which serves nice Italian dishes. The “insalata di pomodori datterini (datterini tomato salad with Burrata ai Andria DOP cheese)” (CHF 19.50) was a typical Italian burrata with incredibly aromatic cherry tomatoes, making it a lovely starter.

The “tagliata di manzo ‘Black Angus Ojo de Agua’ alla griglia (300gr) (tagliata of grilled ‘Black Angus de Ojo de Agua’ beef, rocket salad and Parmesan flakes (300gr)” (CHF 54.50) did look a bit tiny, but was actually a nice portion in terms of size as well as in terms of flavour. On top of that, it was also served quite swiftly, making it a nice overall experience.

The side dish I had ordered with it, the “spinaci freschi saltati (sautéed fresh spinach) (CHF 7.50) was quite nice, but my brain had somehow expected creamed spinach, so I was a bit disappointed.

The “ice cream” (CHF 9.00) to finish the dinner was a good and tasty one to finish the dinner.

The place itself is appealing on the inside, since it is modern and quite lovely in terms of interior decoration. However, the “rooftop” feeling isn’t really created in this location either. Other than that, the service is exquisite – the staff is super friendly and attentive, making sure that you have everything you want and need at all times.

All in all, I can recommend you to dine at the LEO since the food is superb, the location is nice (inside nicer than outside), and the service is exquisite. So, definitely worth visiting.
