A nice place with decent Asian dishes: Restaurant Tokyo (18. October 2022)

The Tokyo is a nice little Japanese restaurant which offers seating niches which are quite comfortable, and has lovely service. I went for the “crispy crab salad (crab, mixed vegetables, blast sauce)” (79.00 SAR) which was quite nice but a tiny bit too crispy for my personal gusto.

The “Wagyu Tacos (crispy taco shells filled with wagyu beef, coriander, Jalapeño salsa and spicy yuzu sauce)” (85.00 SAR) on the other hand were quite outstanding. I mean, they are of course hard shell tacos, so kind of modern interpretation with American influences. But, notwithstanding authenticity, the flavour profile is absolutely lovely and quite delicious – especially with a bit of lime on it.

The “salty edamame (steamed soybeans served with Maldon salt)” (39.00 SAR) were salty edamame, as always. Nothing out of the ordinary.

What I liked quite a lot was the “chicken yakisoba (served with vegetables, seaweed, your choice of protein and our signature homemade sauce)” (86.00 SAR) since it was tasty, nicely mixed together, and had a great flavour profile.

Last but not least, the “spicy sweet beef tenderloin (sprinkled with sesame and covered with spicy sweet sauce)” (110.00 SAR) was perfect in terms of quality and tenderness of the meat.

The place is quite nice inside – modern, spacious, and overall appealing. And the service does a good job to satisfy all your needs.

All in all, the restaurant Tokyo is definitely a lovely place with great dishes, in a nice atmosphere, good service, and ultimately all of it for fair prices.
