Not worth re-visiting despite the decent food: Restaurant Vivenea Lounge (13. December 2022)

| February 13, 2023 | 0 Comments

Originally, I wanted to go to a place called ‘FireGrill’, which was rated quite nicely on Google Maps. However, when I ended up there, the place wasn’t really too appealing and quite empty. And since I saw a place, which served shisha, I decided to give that place a try. The Vivenea Lounge definitely doesn’t have the best service – you have to wait quite a bit and people are slow.

I ordered some “Moroccan Tea” (32.00 SAR), which was served reasonably quickly and was quite okay – this was also kind of necessary, since it started getting cold outside.

Then, I went for the “meat hummus” (40.00 SAR) and “butter chicken” (63.00 SAR). Although I had specifically asked for the meat hummus to be brought before the chicken, and the chicken only once I was done with the hummus, they managed to fail miserably. The chicken arrived first – and then the hummus. But, of course, without any Arabic bread or the like. And I had to ask twice to get some Arabic bread. And when I was half-done with the chicken, it was finally served. So, the ‘appetizer’ ended up being a ‘in the middle of the meal’ dish. In any case, I must say, both dishes were good in terms of taste.

The “Double Apple Alfakher” (109.00 SAR) was price-wise super decent, compared to other places I’ve been to, but it was also not necessarily the best. On top of that, when it was served, they were missing the charcoal, so, having everything ready, but the charcoal kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing, n0? Eventually, the charcoal arrived.

All in all, the Vivenea Lounge is not a place I’ll return to. Slow service, not entirely capable of doing its job, and not really an atmospheric place. Despite the food being decent, it was far from a revelation.
