Paper in the salad – but handled professionally: Restaurant Münsterhöfli (21. December 2022)

It’s a bit ago since I’ve last been to the Münsterhöfli, and I was not aware they also had a floor upstairs. While it’s quite crowded downstairs, the area upstairs is actually quite nice and definitely great for a lunch break. I went for the soup of the day, which was a “bread soup” (CHF 12.00) and it was quite enjoyable, even though, it was simple in taste.

The “veal stripes from Zurich with roesti” (CHF 42.00) was great – a nice portion, tasty meat, and a good roesti. Definitely a great lunch offering.

What wasn’t so great was the fact that the salad my counterpart had was served with quite a huge piece of paper. But to be fair, they handled it professionally. Apologized a variety of times, brought a new salad, and didn’t charge for it. Other than that, the service is friendly and attentive, the place is lovely, and the prices are fair. Since the restaurant isn’t huge, I would definitely recommend you to book in advance (and to let them know that you want to be on the upper floor).
