A hotel restaurant which is surprisingly decent: Restaurant @ a-ja Zürich (21. December 2022)
Ending up in the a-ja was more of a random thing, since it’s not exactly in the middle of Zurich. The restaurant at the a-ja is more of a regular hotel restaurant, but it’s okay to also come here just like that. As a starter we went for a “tarte Alsatian style (bacon, onions, crème fraiche)” (CHF 14.50) which was not only a generous portion but also rather tasty.
As a main, I decided to go for the “Caesar salad with chicken stripes (bacons, croutons, Parmesan, Caesar dressing)” (CHF 22.50), which was also good and quite a portion. Frankly, I was quite positively surprised.
The waiter was friendly and attentive, and made sure you would have everything you wanted at all times. The restaurant itself is quite regular and only semi-appealing, but all in all, it definitely works. Booking in advance is not necessary.
