Good meat and decent overall experience: Restaurant Piri Piri Steakhouse @ Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve (26. December 2022)

It struck me a bit odd that you have to book your table with putting down your credit card when you’re a guest at the Pine Cliffs resort. In any case, the Piri Piri Steakhouse is a good choice for dinner. I went for the “Croquetes de Novilho Com Dijonaise” (EUR 15.00) which were quite tasty and generously stuffed with meat.

As a main, I decided to go for the “Lombo (350gr)” (EUR 55.00) with “Sauce Béarnaise” and I must say, the meat was actually quite enjoyable. The quality was good, it was cooked perfectly medium as requested, only the sauce wasn’t entirely to my liking.

As a side, I had gone for “charred broccoli (lemon gremolata and Parmesan)” (EUR 7.00) and “creamy spinach” (EUR 8.00) and while I liked the broccoli quite a bit, I was not really a fan of the spinach since it was just somewhat too creamy. I usually love spinach, but this one wasn’t what I was looking for.

And the “truffled mac n’ cheese” (EUR 10.00) were definitely nothing to enjoy. I mean, it’s not like one would expect too much from something like mac n’ cheese, but it was just a mash of pasta with some weird artificial flavour on top.

The place is quite nice in terms of interior design and the staff is friendly and overall swift. So, if you’re staying at the Pine Cliffs resort, you can definitely have dinner here. Just be a bit careful with the side dishes.
