13. June 2011: Restaurant in the Westin Grand Hotel

| June 18, 2011 | 0 Comments

The breakfast buffet (EUR 30.00 p.P.) in the Westin Grand Hotel in Berlin is quite okay – it is not as good as the one in the Westin Grand Hotel in Munich but it is pretty acceptable overall. The selection of different things to eat is pretty big ranging from fresh fruit to cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruit juices, omletts, eggs, salmon, smoked fish, different kinds of bread, champagne and so on. The salmon – my favourite thing to compare when it comes to the quality of breakfast buffets – was not that bad. A bit oily but overall not bad.

The atmosphere on the 1st floor restaurant is okay – but because the room is pretty long and not so bread and all the tables look more or less the same, the atmosphere is not that great. The service is friendly and – after we waited for about 25 minutes till someone came by to take our coffee order – brought the coffee quite quick. But waiting 25 minutes is definitely too much (luckily, a buffet offers the possibility to help yourself with everything else).

Overall, the breakfast buffet is quite good but it is a bit too expensive for my personal gusto. Especially when knowing that other Westin hotels offer better buffets for lower price. The service has room for improvement and the atmosphere is not that great either – so as a conclusion: If you have booked a room including breakfast, it’s absolutely okay to go there, if you haven’t go out and have brunch at one of the many places in Berlin!
