Perfect to take in the first sunrays of the year: Restaurant Corda Café @ Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve (5. January 2023)
While I absolutely loved my stay at the Pine Cliffs Hotel, I must say I was a bit disappointed that the majority of the restaurants in the resort closed after January 1st. Frankly, I get it, it’s winter time and business is slow, but it feels like they really keep open only the bare minimum, which is a shame. So, I ended up in the Corda Café, which was still open and went for the “fried padron peppers (Parmesan, smoked salt)” (EUR 14.00) and the “hummus de Grão-de-bico cremoso (home-made pita bread)” (EUR 12.00). The padron peppers with Parmesan cheese and the smoked salt were actually great. The hummus on the other hand was relatively disappointing, and I didn’t have enough bread for it, so I ordered more and was charged EUR 2.00 for that.
To be fair though, the place is quite okay, since you get to enjoy it for quite a while before it ultimately disappears around 4.30pm. The service is exquisite since they are super friendly and attentive and make sure you have everything within no time. Still, there are more appealing restaurants in the resort (when they are open), which can be enjoyed.
