Decent and tasty dishes in a nice, old-fashioned atmosphere: Restaurant Hardhof (16. January 2023)
It’s a bit ago since I’ve last been to the Hardhof, so I was curious to see how things had developed – and I must say, it’s largely the same as previously. Once you’re seated, you’re getting a snack with some spread (I didn’t quite get what it was, nor what the waiter said about it).
I went for the “veal liver in red wine reduction, red onions, and herbs” (CHF 36.00) which wasn’t a massive portion, but just about right to ensure you have enough. The sauce was quite nice, so you felt inclined to empty the plate almost entirely.
The “seasonal vegetables”, which are served with the rest of the plate, looked a bit dull, but turned out to be actually quite tasty.
Given its location and the ‘old-fashioned’ interior, it kind of feels not like a place where you would necessarily expect good food, but turns out, the food is quite good and comes with a fair price-performance ratio and good service. Since the place isn’t huge, I would recommend you to book in advance.
