Decent but far from exceptional: Restaurant Le Strogoff (19. January 2023)

| March 31, 2023 | 0 Comments

There are quite a couple of options on the menu in the Le Strogoff, which makes picking something not really that easy. Hence, we decided to go for a selection of things to share with the “Toscana board” (EUR 23.00) and a “smoked burrata” (EUR 9.00). The selection of cold cuts and cheese is rather limited on the board. The smoked burrata on the other hand was actually quite enjoyable.

The “winter board” (EUR 26.00) was okay as well. But in both cases, it just feels like you don’t really get a lot, and ultimately you end up paying quite a bit, which is somewhat not really sitting right with me.

As a main, I went for the “angus entrecôte with holiday flavours (grilled Argentinian beef entrecôte (300gr), foie gras, port juice, spinach)” (EUR 38.00), which was good in terms of quality of the meat. However, when it comes to cooking temperature, it was a bit of a disappointment since my meat was more like almost done instead of medium as requested. In any case, the meat was okay. I had ‘missed’ the foie gras on top when I read the menu, so, I was a bit surprised, and frankly, it’s not something I would have needed.

Instead of the mashed potatoes, I went for the “French fries”, which were okay, but not really too crispy, which was somewhat not satisfying.

The place is rather simple in terms of interior design and feels like a bit industrialized. The service staff is friendly and attentive, and relatively quick – especially considering the size of the place and the relatively limited number of waiters.
