Perfect rooftop pool view onto the sea – if the weather was nice: Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar @ W Muscat (28. January 2023)
Since the number of restaurants in the W is relatively limited, and some are closed at some times, I decided to give the Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar a try, which is more of a fancy relaxing restaurant and bar with a rooftop pool, which provides you with a view of the sea. However, since it was raining quite a bit, I decided to have lunch here and went for the “beef sliders (lettuce, tomatoes, comte cheese, capsicum piperade, sesame bun)” (11.000 OMR), which were quite okay, but a bit more on the ‘dry side’ of things when it came to how the meat was prepared.
The “chicken udon noodles (cashew nuts, red Thai curry, capsicum, snow peas)” (17.000 OMR) were decent, but definitely far from something special. I mean, sure, the food wasn’t bad, but it was not exactly something where you’re going to remember it for a long time.
The “stir-fried seasonal vegetables” (5.000 OMR) were okay – nothing special either. So, from a food perspective, it was rather average.
However, the place is quite nice and enjoyable – so, definitely a place you will enjoy relaxing here …
… with a bit of green inside as well, which adds to the atmosphere.
But also the outside is nice to relax and chill …
… and it’s kind of perfect, if you want to dive into the water and enjoy it to the fullest extent possible.
The place itself is appealing when you leave …
… as well as when you walk in. What I really liked was the professionalism and the friendliness of the staff – they really take care of you and make you feel welcome. On top of that, they are swift, and ensure you get what you want immediately.
So, while from a food perspective, the Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar isn’t really too much a place I would want to visit again, from an experience perspective (everything but the food), I would definitely recommend again.
