Quite okay, but they could definitely work on their service: Karel Korner (18. February 2023)
It’s about two years ago since I’ve last been to Karel Korner and nothing much has changed. They are still serving nice drinks in relatively uneventful but appealing surroundings. I went for the “Apricot Chic! (Humbel Wodotschka Vodka, Morand Apricot Liquor, Tessiner Risotto-Horchata, Apricots from Valais, Sexy Bitters)” (CHF 17.00), which was looking nicer than it tasted. I mean, the drink was decent, but far from exciting.
The “No Matter What (Matter Martinazzi Classic Bitter, Matter Gran Classico Bitter, Urban Lemonade, Spreewald Cucumber)” (CHF 17.00) was decent, but too bitter for my personal gusto. Which is more my fault than theirs, since I hadn’t seen the ‘bitter’ part in the description.
The place is nice, and the service is functioning. Friendliness would be a bit of a different animal, though. All in all, nothing I can blame them for, but it just didn’t feel like you’re too welcome here as a customer.
